Modeling the World with Four Colors

You can organize the entire world into five categories and represent those categories with four colors. This presentation describes a method to place all your data elements into the five categories and their four colors.

The presentation begins with a brief description of the five categories, continues with examples and tips for identifying each of the five categories and typical data elements in each of the categories, and concludes with a standard way the five categories fit together. The example diagrams use the UML class model notation.

The presentation focuses on modeling data requirements using a common pattern that recurrs in many industries.

To make the ideas concrete, one of the examples is of the meeting and the presentation itself!
